Before I Hand Over My Heart
A coed dating group for pacing a new relationship wisely. Part 2 of 2.
Virtual group · meets online by secure video
There is a moment early on when it all moves fast.
The texting that doesn’t stop. The feeling that you’ve known each other forever. Three weeks in, you’re already imagining the future — and already exposed. And somewhere in you is the memory of the last time it moved this fast, and how it ended.
You don’t need to stop wanting love. You need a way to let it grow at the pace trust can actually keep up with. Feelings can race ahead in a single evening. Knowing someone takes longer. That gap is where most hearts get broken — and it is exactly where this group does its work.
Who this group is for
Single adults who have finished Part 1, or who already understand their patterns and want a clear plan for the next relationship. Part 1 helps, but isn’t required.
This group is coed. Men and women do this work in the same room, so you hear how dating feels from the other side of it, from people you are not trying to impress.
What we do over twelve weeks
The five bonds: how well you know someone, how much you trust them, how much you rely on them, how committed you are, and how close you are physically — and why they need to grow in that order.
What to actually look for: the questions and observations that reveal character, family patterns, and how someone handles conflict, before you’re attached.
Pacing: keeping your heart, your commitments, and your body from running ahead of what you know.
Chemistry is not compatibility: red flags, green flags, and how to tell the difference when you’re excited.
Holding to your values when loneliness is loud — so the choice you make is one you still believe in six months later.
This group is built on a clear, research-informed map of how healthy bonds grow, alongside attachment work and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Your workbook is included in your materials.
The proverb says to keep watch over your heart, because life flows out of it (Proverbs 4:23). That was never a call to close it. It’s a call to give it wisely.
The details
Every group meets online, and that works in your favor.
No traffic, no parking, no waiting room. Ninety minutes of group costs you ninety minutes.
You are already home when it ends. After a hard session there is no drive to get through. You close the laptop and you are in your own space.
Private from the start. Nobody sees you walk into an office.
Distance stops deciding who is in the room. Members join from across Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Missouri, and New Jersey.
Twelve straight weeks is easier to keep when getting there takes one click.
