When They Doubt You (And You Do Too): Teens
A teen ADHD group for high schoolers, ages 14–18 — in person in Boynton Beach or online.
In-person & online group · meets at our Boynton Beach office or by secure video
For parents
Your teen has heard the doubt — from teachers, from coaches, maybe from home.
“You’re so smart, if you’d just apply yourself.” The assignment that was finished and never turned in. The promise they meant and forgot. The restlessness that gets read as attitude.
What you may not see is what it does on the inside. Every missed thing becomes proof: I’m the one who messes up. They start expecting to fail before they begin. They stop believing they’ll follow through — and it hurts in a particular way when the people they love stop believing it too.
Your teen does not need another lecture on trying harder. They need skills that fit how their brain works, and a room with other teens figuring out the same thing — where they can stop feeling like the only one.
For teens
You mean to do the thing. You really do.
And then it slips — again — and you catch that look on someone’s face that says they’ve stopped expecting you to come through. Somewhere in there it got quiet and heavy: maybe I’m just like this.
You’re not. Your mind runs fast and misses things, and that has nothing to do with whether you’re smart, or good, or capable. In here, nobody’s going to shame you for how you’re wired. We’re going to build the systems that help you trust yourself again — and prove you can follow through.
Who this group is for
High schoolers with ADHD, ages 14–18.
What we do over twelve weeks
Understand the ADHD brain: why focus comes and goes, why time slips, why boring things feel impossible and interesting things take over.
School systems that work: assignments, deadlines, studying — and actually turning it in.
Phones, distraction, and getting started.
The restless side: the fidgety, can’t-sit-still energy, and how to work with it instead of against it.
The feelings: frustration, embarrassment, feeling different, and the guilt of letting people down.
Rebuilding trust in yourself: small promises kept, until you believe your own word again.
Friends and home: less conflict, more being understood.
This group draws on cognitive-behavioral therapy for ADHD adapted for teens, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
